Falls Care Service

NHS Surrey Downs CCG have been working in partnership with Surrey County Council, Epsom and Ewell Borough Council, Mole Valley District Council, Elmbridge Borough Council, Reigate & Banstead Borough Council and Surrey Downs Health & Care to produce the Surrey Downs Falls Prevention Pack. The pack provides lots of useful advice on how to prevent a fall, along with information about local services available to support you and keep you living independently in the community.

Community transport

If you have difficulty using public transport, or you just need some support to get out and about, there are a variety of community transport schemes in Surrey that can help including Dial-a-Ride services, along with Good Neighbour schemes which can offer scheduled services or door-to-door transport, e.g. to supermarkets and doctors surgeries.

Help with meals

If you are struggling to prepare meals for yourself, or having trouble getting to the supermarket, there are companies which can deliver hot or frozen meals to your door and supermarkets which will make deliveries.

Reengage

A free service for anyone over-75 who lives alone and feels they could do with a friendly phone call every week or two. To be eligible for a call companion you should be aged 75 or over, living alone or in sheltered housing and have difficulty getting out in normal times.
